Federal No Surprises Act
Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges Under the No Surprises Act:
Starting in 2022, the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act, No Surprises Act requires providers and patient’s health plans to share specific information with patients on potential patient costs for our services for those patients who have insurance with carriers that we are not under contract with (out-of-network).
Again, Wellesley Neuropsychology and Assessment would be considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance carriers.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost, including the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Per federal Consolidated Appropriations Act and our office policy, we cannot schedule any appointments for you with any of our staff until 48 hours after we receive this Good Faith Estimate document signed and dated back in our office.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
